Professor Cao performs a number of cardiac operations, including coronary artery bypass graft surgery, valve repair and replacement surgery, aortic operations, and device implantations.
During his specialist training in New York University, he gained additional experience with heart transplantation and mechanical support. He has a specific clinical and academic interest in coronary artery bypass graft surgery using arterial conduits, and he was the First Author in a number of publications in top international cardiothoracic journals, including the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
