Professor Chris Cao has contributed extensively to research examining the surgical management of lung cancer, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), minimally invasive surgical techniques, pulmonary resection and patient outcomes.
His published research spans comparisons of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and open thoracotomy, different approaches to pulmonary resection, and the continuing evolution of minimally invasive and robotic techniques in thoracic surgery.
